Dr Izzadeen Chowdhury's article has raised some good questions for the Charity Commission to answer.
Dr Chowdhury thinks it’s possible that the Commission has a different set of rules depending on whether charities are Muslim or non-Muslim.
Now, we all know the Charity Commission is under-funded [just exactly like some of the chariies they bully and regulate], because they keep telling us.
So is it possible that, despite Sir Stephen Bubb’s warning, too much of the Commission’s meagre resource has been used on Muslim charities?
Non-Muslim charities should be right upset about this - why so biased?
Could it be that, as a result, whisteblowing and safeguarding have been neglected by the Commission - along with dialogue with trustees and visits to charities?
And that, in Dr Chowdhury’s words: “ It seems Sir Stephen’s concerns fell on deaf ears with the most vulnerable women and children paying the price.”
